The Good Ole’ Boys Club…Guess who?

Written by Heather Penn

Once upon a time there was a man who worked for the borough

His job of chief surveyor he performed quite thorough

Himself the reaper of the spoils

With stolen taxpayers toils

He made amends and drew new lines

his own neighborhood he divined

But wait he wanted more

for twice the price, oh what a score

Everyone around suffered this blight

Drove up the taxes…what a sight

Can he possibly get worse than this?

Oh yes, you’re in for quite a dish

For a gravel pit was what he bought

Personal profit is what he sought

Then charged the neighborhood for what was free

He cried More More More for me… yippee

The good ole boys are here to stay

For corruption can happen no other way
