Abortion Reversal

Written by Pamela Samash

What if a woman could change her mind after her RU 486 abortion attempt and have a second chance, but unfortunately not here in Fairbanks.

RU 486, or mifepristone, is a drug given to women who are 10 weeks or less in pregnancy and who choose to kill their unborn son or daughter. It works by blocking progesterone, the woman’s natural pregnancy support hormone.   Then the abortion provider gives another pill soon after to start the contractions and the dead child is expelled to be thrown in the trash or the toilet, and another human life made in Gods Image is destroyed.

But, I bring wonderful news!  If a woman in early pregnancy takes RU-486, she may realize she has made a choice she regrets.  If she acts quickly, she may reverse the RU-486 by taking natural progesterone.  According to the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, natural progesterone has no harmful effects.  It is widely used to protect unborn babies from miscarriage and premature delivery.  It is a neuro-protective hormone which can also be used to treat traumatic brain injury in adults.  While the RU-486 may kill the baby, it does not cause birth defects.  Progesterone is widely available, and can be given orally, vaginally, or by injection.  It is widely used in dosages of 200-600 milligrams/day.   Thus, she may have a healthy baby if the progesterone is able to prevent the RU-486 from causing miscarriage.  It works about in about half of the cases.  Over two hundred babies have been saved from RU-486.  Nearly all were healthy, and there was no pattern of birth defects caused by either RU-486 or progesterone. Any doctor could prescribe this life-saving hormone.

When I read about this I was thrilled to see that there was a chance to intervene and save our interior babies! At once I called our local ER to confirm they had the treatment plan in place to help these children (since it’s very time sensitive) and, they don’t. See, FMH emergency dept cannot do anything to help a distressed mom trying to save her child after taking RU486 because they have no local OB’s in our area that have set up a protocol. A one-time lifesaving dose of progesterone won’t fix this; there has to be a system in place for ongoing treatment and in order for that to happen, there has to be a willing doctor to do it. Ok, I thought, I’ll find a doctor in my community that cares for babies and moms that will step up and work with the hospital, no problem, right? Well, it turned out to be a huge problem since I couldn’t find any. Yes, I could not find any doctors in Fairbanks willing to help save the life of an unborn child; I needed to spell that out loud and clear. Ok, is it just me, or isn’t that the whole purpose of a doctor? I’ll tell you, life is full of rotten surprises.

I did contact one doctor, but he’s in LA.  His name is Dr. Paddy Jim Baggot MD.  Dr. Baggot has personally administered progesterone and treated these RU486 victims and watched beautiful healthy babies enter the world.  Dr. Baggot has attended seminars regarding this issue and has a lot of first-hand knowledge and information that cannot be disputed. He’s very open about what he’s learned and he warned me that finding OB’s to help these babies is no easy task. Why not I wondered? Well, they follow strange guidelines from questionable sources that they claim are true studies, but when I reviewed the website like ACOG, I just saw liberal this and liberal that and it took less then 5 minutes for me to realize that no wonder they don’t want to save perishing children, it’s completely prochoice. If I was an OB, personally, I would not follow any guidelines from this perspective. OB care is about life, not death, at least that’s how I always saw it.

So what now? Well, prayer and awareness are the first steps. Education is the next and to be educated on reversing the abortion pill, there’s a website at Abortionpillreversal.com or  their number is 877-558-0333. This detailed webpage holds nothing back on information, supportive and knowledgeable doctors and studies.
As I see it, there’s no excuse at all for not having progesterone intervention treatments right here in interior Alaska for our moms and babies and it should be told to the woman as she’s deciding to take this fatal Mifepristone drug. I truly believe that there are doctors here who might want to help, but it’s a newly discovered path and perhaps they just never encountered a situation where they had to act or research anything about this issue, but nevertheless, now we do know and time is of the essence to begin working with our hospital to save our unborn children. Being able to reverse an abortion, what a wonderful miracle!
